On 14 September 2025 we took on the Wolf Run Autumn challenge in Warwickshire. A 10k mix of mud, water, trails and obstacles. It’s fair to say it pushed us all out of our comfort zones, but it was a brilliant day that brought the team together.

Joining the run were Jonny, Fizz, Maddy and Paul, alongside plenty of support from our colleagues in finance, marketing, social media and support. Some of us ran, some of us shouted encouragement from the sidelines, but everyone played their part in making it a proper Swindon Web Creations effort.

Why we take on challenges like Wolf Run

Away from web design and marketing projects, events like this give us a chance to work together in a different way. Getting over muddy walls or pulling each other out of lakes is a reminder of the teamwork we rely on day-to-day when building websites or helping clients. It’s also a way to stay active. Sitting at desks, designing websites and managing campaigns can be pretty static. Training for the Wolf Run gave us a reason to get outside and keep moving.

The day itself

The Autumn Wolf is known for its mix of terrain. There were icy lakes, tunnels and plenty of mud. Jonny was the first to dive straight into the water, while Maddy kept steady on the long trail sections. Paul managed to scale the climbing walls once more, and Fizz kept spirits up whenever the mud felt never-ending.

Our colleagues who didn’t run – including those from finance, social media and support – made sure we had plenty of encouragement along the way. They also helped with logistics (and snacks), which turned it into a proper team day out.

Linking it back to what we do

Taking part in something like Wolf Run isn’t just about fitness. It shows the same traits that matter in our work:

  • Teamwork – supporting each other whether it’s in mud or on a project.
  • Problem-solving – figuring out how to get over the next obstacle.
  • Resilience – carrying on even when things get tough.

These are the same qualities that go into our projects, whether it’s creating websites, working on graphics and branding, or helping a business grow online.

Looking ahead

This wasn’t our first challenge, and it won’t be the last. Last year we joined Runvember to raise funds for charity, and earlier this summer we went kayaking in the Cotswolds. Getting out of the office and into new environments helps us stay fresh and keep perspective. If you’re curious about the Wolf Run itself, you can check out the official event page Autumn Wolf Run.

Final thoughts

Wolf Run 2025 was wet, muddy, cold, tiring and brilliant. We’re proud that Jonny, Fizz, Maddy and Paul got round the course, and equally proud of the support from our finance, marketing, social media and support teams who made the day possible.

We’ll keep saying yes to challenges like this – they’re great for team spirit and they remind us that the best results come when you work together.
